The Importance of Cat and Dog X-ray

Our digital X-ray equipment gives our emergency team the ability to detect and diagnosis a wide variety of issues, including:

  • Broken bones
  • Joint inflammation
  • Limb deformities
  • Heart and lung abnormalities
  • Some foreign bodies

Unlike film X-ray, digital X-ray involves less positioning and handling of pets, safer levels of radiation, and clearer, higher-quality X-ray images.

Full Laboratory Testing

In addition to X-ray, we also utilize an advanced in-house laboratory for many different blood, fecal, and urine tests. These tests can provide us with a wealth of information about your pet’s internal organ function, blood cell counts, and much more. We can screen dogs and cats for infections, organ diseases, parasites, and many other issues.

Electrocardiography

To screen your pet for heart disease, we use electrocardiography (or ECG). This procedure records the electrical activity of the heart, and may be recommended for your pet if they have an irregular or indecipherable heartbeat. Electrocardiograms are painless and non-invasive, and can give us potentially life-saving information about your pet’s condition.
